Bourjois Fast and Perfect Mascara Review

Hello, I ventured to Boots on my lunchbreak today get a sandwhich and have a browse at makeup. What I found was that ALL Bourjois mascara's are £5.99 at the moment which is a really good offer.

I have been wearing Clinique High Impact for about the last six months and I still love this mascara but for £5.99 I couldn't resist trying a new product.
So I chose Bourjois Fast and Perfect for the reason that it is normally priced at £11.99 and therefore the biggest bargin.

So the major thing about this mascara is that it is a auto-rotating mascara which is quite rare the only other one that springs to mind is the Dior 360, which I have never tried so unfornatly I can't compare.
The mascara has a switch on the lid which you can turn to rotate clockwise or anticlockwise.

On using the mascara I found it is a really good product if used corretly, I don't get why the mascara goes in two directions because only anticlockwise seemed to work. If I used the mascara the otherway it seemed to go clumpy and even trap some lashes not good! My guess is the clockwise rotation is for the bottom lashes but im not sure.

The brush doesn't look anything special but it is not too big which is good if like me you sometimes get the mascara on your eyelids when using a clumpy brush.

However once I realised how to use the mascara and that you need to hold the mascara at the base of the lashes, it did deliver. The brush distributes the product perfectly through the lashes and was buildable without being clumpy. I went to the gym and the mascara stayed on but when it was time to come off it only took one makeup wipe.

Product on left eye, right eye with no mascara

I have short eyelashes so mascaras are never going to make me look like I have false lashes on, but I think you can see a diffrence.Currently this mascara doesn't come in waterproof or any colour other than black.

If you don't think this mascara is for you Bourjois do roughly 10 diffrent types and as I said they are all £5.99 at Boots and Superdrug at the moment. Let me know if you have tried this mascara or any of the others by Bourjois.

Clinique moisture surge tinted moisturizer

This is a request review of Clinque's new tinted moisturizer.
I bought this tinted moisturiser when i went to buy clinique's gentle light foundation and was told it was discountinued. The lady at the counter recommended this as she said the coverage and texture was similar.

I do like this product but the first point to make is that it has a lot of coverage for a tinted moisturizer. As you will see from my before and after photo's my frekkles are hardly visable, I would compare this product to Laura Mercier Tinted moisturiser in terms of coverage or maybe even a little bit more.

The moisturizer is not frangranced and is oil free and a added bonus is that it has an SPF 15. It goes on quite dewy but I found it drys semi matte which is perfect for people looking for a halfway house product but not so good if you want really glowing skin. I found it easy to blend and it lasted on me most of the day it needed touching up after about 5 hours.

I have two niggles with this foundation the first one is that I found it hard to get a colour match as most shades seemed to have pinky undertones so I would deffinatley ask for a test of this one before buying. The second is that it doesn't feel as lightweight on the skin as other tinted moisturizers I have tried which doesn't bother me too much but isn't ideal if you are looking for a more traditional tint.

So all in all I would give this product a 6/10 its a good foundationwith a nice finish but not really a tinted moisturizer in my opinion.

Have you tried this product? Please let me know

Budget haircare

My hair has been feeling a bit dry lately so I have been on the search for a new intensive hair mask
I decided to try and find a cheap product to see if it still did a good job as I slather on conditioner and it can work out quite pricey to keep buying.

I went to my local boots and picked up Boots own brand coconut & almond intensive hair mask which cost £2.03 for 300ml. I have to say I am very impressed with this product it has left my hair silky and not limp or weighed down it also smelt gorgeous. I am now going to put this on my hair on a weekly basis and very happy to have found a bargain.

What are your favourite haircare products? Please let me know if anyone wants me to do a haircare routine post.

Free Ciate nail varnish

I am a sucker for a magazine freebie so I was very excited to see Marie Claire was doing a free Ciate nail varnish with this months issue.

Ciate is a great nail varnish brand their packaging is very pretty and I find I can go 5 days chip free with a top coat. I chose a beautiful metallic purple called wait until dark and I can't wait to try it out! They also have a baby pink colour available.

have you picked one of these up, what do you think of Ciate?
